Installing corporate beehives in Bordeaux provides organizations with an impactful, engaging initiative to support urban biodiversity. Since 2010, Apiterra has delivered turnkey professional beekeeping services to manage and maintain hives directly on corporate premises.
Across the Bordeaux metropolitan area, vibrant business districts such as Bordeaux-Euratlantique, Mériadeck, and the revitalized Bassins à flot host major corporate headquarters, service providers, and innovative tech companies. Introducing managed beehives within these dynamic business hubs allows organizations to give tangible expression to their corporate social responsibility commitments. In a regional economy increasingly dedicated to environmental transition, hosting honeybees on-site fosters employee engagement, strengthens corporate culture, and presents visiting clients with an authentic, visible demonstration of sustainability embedded in the workplace.
Bordeaux enjoys a mild oceanic climate characterized by warm summers and gentle winters, creating an extended and productive foraging season for pollinating insects. The city features significant green spaces, including the Jardin Public, Parc Bordelais, and ecological corridors along the Garonne River, which supply abundant floral diversity. Bees thrive on urban nectar sources such as lime trees, acacias, and ornamental flora cultivated across metropolitan parks, shielded from intensive agricultural pesticides and supporting steady colony health throughout the active months.
Whether your company occupies modern offices with a secure rooftop overlooking the river, a corporate campus, or landscaped grounds, Apiterra ensures complete technical feasibility. Our professional beekeepers handle site selection, hive installation, and routine maintenance with strict safety protocols. Hosting hives provides a meaningful CSR cornerstone, complemented by educational workshops and custom-labeled honey that unites your workforce around local environmental stewardship.
Above all, it brings people together: hive visits, harvest days, the Apiterra mobile app and the Apinews keep every employee involved throughout the year.

Questions about beehives in Bordeaux
Is Bordeaux's maritime climate suitable for corporate rooftop beehives?
+
Bordeaux's mild oceanic climate is very favorable for bees, providing long foraging seasons and rich floral variety. During initial technical audits, Apiterra ensures hives are sheltered from prevailing Atlantic winds and direct exposure along the Garonne River.
Do you really work in Bordeaux?
+
Yes. Apiterra installs and maintains corporate beehives in Bordeaux and across Nouvelle-Aquitaine, as in the rest of France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
Is there any risk for employees?
+
Hives are installed in places away from passage areas after an on-site study. Bees fly up and out of the apiary and are not interested in people. Apiterra takes care of insurance and all legal obligations.
How much does it cost?
+
Each project is different (number of hives, site, options). Request a quote and we will send you a personalised proposal.
What if we have no rooftop or garden?
+
You can sponsor hives hosted in our Apiterra apiaries and still receive honey and news from your colonies.
