Apiterra provides Rouen businesses with turnkey corporate beehive installations and ongoing expert apiary management across Normandy. Since 2010, our professional beekeepers have helped organizations strengthen their CSR strategy while championing urban biodiversity along the Seine.
As Normandy’s historic capital, Rouen blends a bustling maritime port, service industries, and forward-thinking corporate campuses along the banks of the Seine. From established business districts like Saint-Sever on the Left Bank to modern eco-districts such as Luciline on the Right Bank, local enterprises are increasingly prioritizing environmental responsibility. Introducing beehives onto corporate premises enables regional headquarters, technology hubs, and industrial offices to tangibly embody their sustainability commitments while offering employees a meaningful connection to their working environment in the heart of this vibrant Norman metropolis.
Rouen’s temperate oceanic climate creates mild conditions and steady moisture that sustain lush urban and suburban flora throughout the season. Foraging honeybees benefit from an extensive network of green corridors, including the celebrated Jardin des Plantes, Parc Grammont, and the chalk hills overlooking the Seine Valley. Urban linden trees, riverbank willows, and surrounding managed woodlands provide diverse sources of nectar and pollen from early spring through late summer, ensuring local bee colonies maintain steady nutrition and robust health in a balanced natural habitat.
From accessible flat rooftops overlooking the historic city center to landscaped grounds across suburban business parks, Rouen's commercial properties offer excellent settings for corporate apiaries. Apiterra oversees the entire project lifecycle, managing site audits, health inspections, seasonal maintenance, and honey extraction. This turnkey CSR initiative delivers an inspiring visual narrative of corporate responsibility, fostering workplace pride and strengthening environmental ties across your local community and regional networks.
Above all, it brings people together: hive visits, harvest days, the Apiterra mobile app and the Apinews keep every employee involved throughout the year.

Questions about beehives in Rouen
Does the oceanic climate and frequent rain in Rouen affect corporate beehives?
+
Not at all; Rouen’s mild oceanic climate actually supports a remarkably rich and prolonged flowering season. Our professional beekeepers closely monitor hive nutrition and colony health during wet spells to ensure your bees thrive safely year-round.
Do you really work in Rouen?
+
Yes. Apiterra installs and maintains corporate beehives in Rouen and across Normandie, as in the rest of France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
Is there any risk for employees?
+
Hives are installed in places away from passage areas after an on-site study. Bees fly up and out of the apiary and are not interested in people. Apiterra takes care of insurance and all legal obligations.
How much does it cost?
+
Each project is different (number of hives, site, options). Request a quote and we will send you a personalised proposal.
What if we have no rooftop or garden?
+
You can sponsor hives hosted in our Apiterra apiaries and still receive honey and news from your colonies.
