Installing corporate beehives in Lyon allows organizations to root their sustainability initiatives directly within France's second-largest economic hub. Since 2010, Apiterra has provided businesses with turnkey corporate beekeeping services that foster urban biodiversity.
Lyon represents a premier economic center characterized by thriving service industries, cutting-edge life sciences, and innovation. From the high-rise business district of La Part-Dieu to the modern eco-district of Confluence, the Gerland biodistrict, and corporate hubs in Vaise, local workplaces offer ideal settings for environmental projects. Introducing honeybee hives to these business premises engages employees around measurable ecological action, strengthens corporate identity, and visibly demonstrates environmental responsibility to regional partners and clients.
Nestled around the Rhône and Saône rivers, Lyon features an extensive network of green spaces that support pollinator health. Landmarks such as the Parc de la Tête d'Or, restored riverbanks, the verdant hillsides of Fourvière, and avenues lined with linden trees ensure varied nectar and pollen resources throughout the season. Lyon's temperate climate, marked by warm summers and mild spring conditions, offers a long foraging window that allows honeybee colonies to establish and thrive effectively.
From secure rooftop terraces in dense commercial areas to spacious corporate campuses and landscaped business grounds, Lyon's commercial real estate adapts well to apiary setups. These installations elevate corporate property while serving as a tangible focal point for workplace sustainability programs. Apiterra delivers complete beekeeping care, maintaining rigorous safety standards and ensuring peace of mind for site managers and executive leadership.
Above all, it brings people together: hive visits, harvest days, the Apiterra mobile app and the Apinews keep every employee involved throughout the year.

Questions about beehives in Lyon
Can beehives be installed on office rooftops in dense business areas like La Part-Dieu?
+
Yes, urban rooftops provide excellent locations for beehives, giving bees easy flight paths to nearby parks and riverbanks across Lyon. Our professional beekeepers conduct a prior feasibility audit to ensure optimal safety, accessibility, and wind protection.
Do you really work in Lyon?
+
Yes. Apiterra installs and maintains corporate beehives in Lyon and across Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, as in the rest of France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
Is there any risk for employees?
+
Hives are installed in places away from passage areas after an on-site study. Bees fly up and out of the apiary and are not interested in people. Apiterra takes care of insurance and all legal obligations.
How much does it cost?
+
Each project is different (number of hives, site, options). Request a quote and we will send you a personalised proposal.
What if we have no rooftop or garden?
+
You can sponsor hives hosted in our Apiterra apiaries and still receive honey and news from your colonies.
