Apiterra provides companies across Rennes with turnkey corporate beekeeping services that enhance urban biodiversity and team engagement. Our professional beekeepers help your organization deliver tangible sustainability milestones directly on your corporate grounds.
Rennes stands out as one of western France's most vibrant economic hubs, driven by technology, telecommunications, business services, and academic research. Key employment districts such as EuroRennes, the Rennes Atalante technology park in Beaulieu, and the sustainable business zone of La Courrouze host corporate headquarters and modern campuses. Installing corporate beehives in these professional settings provides a tangible demonstration of environmental commitment. It offers companies an inspiring way to engage employees and stakeholders through meaningful, hands-on biodiversity stewardship in Brittany's capital.
With its mild oceanic climate characterized by moderate winters and temperate summers, Rennes offers an ideal setting for honeybees from early spring through autumn. The city benefits from abundant urban green infrastructure, including the historic Thabor park, the expansive Gayeulles nature park, and the lush riverbanks of the Ille and Vilaine. This network of green spaces ensures consistent nectar and pollen flows, supported by diverse flora such as linden trees, ornamental gardens, and managed flowering meadows throughout the urban fabric.
From rooftop terraces atop contemporary office buildings to expansive green lawns across corporate campuses, beehives can be integrated into diverse workplace settings in Rennes. Apiterra handles complete site feasibility, safety assessments, and seasonal hive maintenance carried out by certified beekeepers. This turnkey service aligns with the sustainability ambitions of local organizations, turning company premises into active biodiversity sanctuaries while strengthening corporate social responsibility and community connection.
Above all, it brings people together: hive visits, harvest days, the Apiterra mobile app and the Apinews keep every employee involved throughout the year.

Questions about beehives in Rennes
How does the oceanic climate in Rennes affect rooftop corporate beekeeping?
+
Rennes enjoys a temperate oceanic climate that is gentle on honeybees, avoiding prolonged freezing periods and excessive thermal stress. Prior to installation, our beekeepers evaluate wind exposure and sun orientation to ensure hives are safely located and resilient throughout the year.
Do you really work in Rennes?
+
Yes. Apiterra installs and maintains corporate beehives in Rennes and across Bretagne, as in the rest of France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
Is there any risk for employees?
+
Hives are installed in places away from passage areas after an on-site study. Bees fly up and out of the apiary and are not interested in people. Apiterra takes care of insurance and all legal obligations.
How much does it cost?
+
Each project is different (number of hives, site, options). Request a quote and we will send you a personalised proposal.
What if we have no rooftop or garden?
+
You can sponsor hives hosted in our Apiterra apiaries and still receive honey and news from your colonies.
