As the capital of Burgundy, Dijon combines strong regional economic vitality with a deep commitment to green urban development. Apiterra supports local companies and institutions across the Dijon area with professional beehive installations and year-round apiary management.
Dijon features a well-balanced economy driven by agrifood expertise, healthcare industries, digital services, and administrative headquarters. Key business districts such as the Valmy Technology Park, the commercial center around Toison d'Or, and industrial hubs like Cap Nord or Longvic offer modern corporate sites with suitable outdoor and rooftop areas. Setting up corporate beehives in these environments allows Dijon organizations to tangibly demonstrate their CSR values while rallying employees around a shared ecological project connected to the local territory.
The city benefits from an established network of green corridors, shaped by the River Ouche, the Burgundy Canal, Lake Kir, and expansive public gardens like Parc de la Colombière and Jardin Darcy. Dijon's semi-continental climate, featuring warm summers and sunny spring periods, supports a diverse melliferous flora. Urban linden trees, black locust, fruit trees, and nectar-rich municipal plantings provide honeybees with balanced and continuous pollen and nectar supplies throughout the active foraging season.
Whether installed on secure office rooftops or within landscaped green spaces of corporate campuses, each beehive setup is designed with high safety standards. Our professional beekeepers handle all technical operations, regular health monitoring, and honey harvesting. This turnkey service provides Dijon decision-makers with a meaningful biodiversity initiative that enhances site sustainability without adding operational complexity for facilities teams.
Above all, it brings people together: hive visits, harvest days, the Apiterra mobile app and the Apinews keep every employee involved throughout the year.

Questions about beehives in Dijon
Can corporate buildings in Dijon safely host beehives on their rooftops?
+
Yes, many office buildings in business zones such as Valmy or Toison d'Or have accessible, secure flat roofs suitable for apiculture. Our professional beekeepers evaluate wind exposure, flight paths, and safety distances to guarantee a secure environment for both building occupants and the honeybee colonies.
Do you really work in Dijon?
+
Yes. Apiterra installs and maintains corporate beehives in Dijon and across Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, as in the rest of France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
Is there any risk for employees?
+
Hives are installed in places away from passage areas after an on-site study. Bees fly up and out of the apiary and are not interested in people. Apiterra takes care of insurance and all legal obligations.
How much does it cost?
+
Each project is different (number of hives, site, options). Request a quote and we will send you a personalised proposal.
What if we have no rooftop or garden?
+
You can sponsor hives hosted in our Apiterra apiaries and still receive honey and news from your colonies.
